London-based designer Manuel Teicu recently sent us these photos of a project he recently completed in Brasov, Romania. The owners of the home wanted a warm and cozy lounge space with an eclectic vibe that would suit their young family well. Teicu turned their simple garage into their fantasy room.
Flat-screen TVs have made their way to our mantels, and they’re probably here to stay. If you’re planning to put your TV over your mantel, then mounting it straight to the wall is an aesthetically clean way to do so. If you can, mount it flush with the wall so it looks less bulky. Alternatively, you can conceal it behind a cabinet.
Another idea is to fill the vertical space with a menagerie of small to midsize artwork. This technique will make the room feel larger than it actually is, because it invites the eye to roam beyond the eye-level horizontal space that may feel confined.
